What is
Make a Difference Day?
Make a Difference Day, started in 1990, is the most encompassing national day of helpingo thers -- a celebration of neighbors helping neighbors. Everyone can pariticpate. Created by USA WEEKEND Magazine, Mak A Difference Day is an annual event that takes place on the fourth Satruday of every Obtober. The next event is Saturday, October 25, 2008. Millions have particpated. In 2005, 3 million people cared enough about their communities to volunteer on that day, accomplishing thousands of projects in hundreds of towns. We hope to encourage indivdiulas, faith based assemblies and non-profit groups to get involved this year. From volunttering to help a neighbor to hosting a day long service project, there is plenty to be done!
